Previous research has shown that drivers who remove

Past studies also identified problems, but Strayer said the "explosion of technology" has made things worse."Drivers want technology that is safe and easy to use," said Marshall Doney, AAA&nylon wheels Manufacturers39;s president and CEO, "but many of the features added to infotainment systems today have resulted in overly complex and sometimes frustrating user experiences for drivers. adults say they want the new technologies in their vehicles, but only 24 percent feel that the technology already works perfectly, according to an opinion survey conducted for AAA.S. There are touch screens, voice commands, writing pads, heads-up displays on windshields and mirrors and 3-D computer-generated images. The test drivers used voice commands, touch screens and other interactive technologies to make calls, send texts, tune the radio or program navigation all while driving. The guidelines also recommend automakers prevent drivers from texting while driving, but three-quarters of the vehicles tested permit drivers to text while the car is moving.".AAA said drivers should use infotainment technologies "only for legitimate emergencies or urgent, driving-related purposes. Cars used to have a few buttons and knobs.Automakers now include more options to allow drivers to use social media, email and text. But Jake Nelson, AAA's director for traffic safety advocacy and research, said drivers testing all 30 of the 2017 model year cars and light trucks took their eyes off the road and hands off the wheel while using infotainment systems.Drivers looked away from the road less when using voice commands, but that safety benefit was offset by the increased amount of time drivers spent interacting with the systems. Past studies also identified problems, but Strayer said the "explosion of technology" has made things worse." None required a low amount of attention to use.

Oct 7, 2017, 9:57 am IST Updated: Oct 7, 2017, 9:57 am IST The amount of modern technology crammed into today’s cars worsens driver distraction. Seven were rated "moderate. The study released Thursday is the latest by University of Utah professor David Strayer, who has been examining the impact of infotainment systems on safety for AAA's Foundation for Traffic Safety since 2013. The guidelines recommend that automakers lock out the ability to program navigation systems while a car is moving.Clearly automakers haven't worked hard enough to make the systems quick and easy to use, Nelson said.Under pressure from the industry, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in 2012 issued voluntary safety guidelines to automakers for dashboard technology instead of enforceable safety standards. At 25 mph (40 kph), a car can travel the length of four football fields during the time it takes to enter a destination. (Representational image) Washington: The infotainment technology that automakers are cramming into the dashboard of new vehicles is making drivers take their eyes off the road and hands off the wheel for dangerously long periods of time, an AAA study says.Programming a destination into in-vehicle GPS navigation systems was the most distracting activity, taking drivers an average of 40 seconds to complete the task.

The technology is also becoming more complicated to use.The vehicle-integrated systems "are designed to be used in the driving environment and require driver attention that is comparable to tuning the radio or adjusting climate controls, which have always been considered baseline acceptable behaviors while driving," said Wade Newton, a spokesman for the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers. Some vehicles now have as many as 50 buttons on the steering wheel and dashboard that are multi-functional.Nearly 70 percent of U." It also urged automakers to block the ability to program navigation systems or send texts while driving. The study released is the latest by University of Utah professor David Strayer, who has been examining the impact of infotainment systems on safety for AAA's Foundation for Traffic Safety since 2013. However, the ability to program navigation while driving was available in 12 vehicles in the study. Previous research has shown that drivers who remove their eyes from the road for just two seconds double their risk for a crash. Automakers should also design infotainment systems so that they require no more attention to use than listening to the radio or an audiobook, it said."It's adding more and more layers of complexity and information at drivers' fingertips without often considering whether it's a good idea to put it at their fingertips," Strayer said. That complexity increases the overall amount of time drivers spend trying to use the systems. Texting was the second-most distracting task performed by test drivers

Parents of the study subjects also reported the lowe

It got me thinking whether this outcome was just a one-time incident or whether it would work again," said Rudnick. The study focused on fear and pain, both anticipated and actual as reported by the child and their caregiver. In addition, 94. In some cases, needle phobia and needle anxiety may even cause parents to delay scheduled visits with the doctor. Results of the study showed that anticipated versus actual pain and fear were reduced in 94.A paediatrician has come up with an innovative solution to distract children from their fear, anxiety and pain using a VR headset. The child placed the goggles on his head as Rudnick proceeded to give him an injection. Virtual reality headsets can be used to help distract children from the fear, anxiety and pain of getting a vaccination, scientists say.Needle phobia is one of the most common fears among children who receive vaccines and are exposed to needles on numerous occasions throughout their childhood.Chad Rudnick from Florida Atlantic University in the US got the idea for the study from an 8-year-old patient who came to his office with a virtual reality headset. For the study, Rudnick used a 3D virtual reality headset and a smartphone app caster wheels Factory that was inserted into the goggles giving the children the choice of a roller coaster ride, a helicopter ride or a hot-air balloon ride.

Study participants ages 6 to 17 completed a pre- and post-questionnaire evaluating fear.A paediatrician has come up with an innovative solution to distract children from their fear, anxiety and pain using a virtual reality headset. This causes many children to fear, anxiety and pain.Prior research has theorised that humans have a limited capacity for attention and therefore if a person is attending to another stimulus away from noxious stimulus, they will perceive the painful stimulus as less severe. The objective of the study was to test the feasibility, efficiency and usefulness of using virtual reality headsets as a means to decrease fear and pain associated with immunisations in paediatric patients. Parents or guardians also completed a questionnaire assessing their parental perception of fear and pain using the same scales. To date, no studies have looked at virtual reality distraction during pediatric immunisations, so Rudnick decided to put his theory to the test.

Parents of the study subjects also reported the lower perception of pain and fear in their child following the use of virtual reality headsets. He is the first to conduct a pilot study, published in the journal Pain Management, using this technique in a pediatric setting. Much to Rudnick's delight, the child didn't even flinch.1 per cent of the pediatric study subjects reported that they would like to use virtual reality headsets again for their next immunisation.1 per cent of the pediatric study subjects."That's when the lightbulb went off in my head.Once the virtual reality headset was in place, Rudnick administered a single injection and kept the headset on until 30 seconds after the immunisation. The objective of the study was to test the feasibility, efficiency and usefulness of using virtual reality headsets as a means to decrease fear and pain associated with immunisations in pediatric patients.

AI was used to amplify misinformation and create

It has to learn a lot. Based on this score their future will be based. Well, AI presently is as good as a toddler. We saw how Facebook and Cambridge Analytica were in the firing zone when they were exposed for manipulating the elections based on user database shared by the social network platform. However, the new trend with evolving AI technology can now manipulate videos too. Many people are freak out with robots that are large and do weird stuff. And this could spell disaster to people, probably in long term. The score could ban them from purchasing property, flying abroad, or even which school their kids are allowed to go to.4billion citizens are planned to be given a score based on their behavior — whether the smoke, drink, jaywalk, get into fights, and a lot more. With more than two decades of data shared by users and collected by online tech companies, the data may be sufficient to build algorithms for AI, but not enough to build a super intelligence that can take over mankind. Photos could also be photoshopped or morphed with technology getting better and give out almost flawless results. (for representational use only). It brings to the front the most read, circulated and the freshest/unique content without any human intervention.

There are campaigns running around to ban the use if AI in autonomous weapons stating that decision to take a human life should never be delegated to a machine. The pilot project from Google set off alarms between its own employees when they found out about the involvement. While Google denied the use of the technology for combat operations, it was finally reportedly abandoned the project. A recent news report did mention about a US defence agency investing in new methods to detect deepfakes. While Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not bad, the major concern is how humans use the AI.Privacy nightmare:While AI could be used to solve many world problems, intrusion of AI into our privacy could be another issue thereon.Online information and manipulation:Facebook was big news last year. With every citizen being stamped a social credit, it is a way for China to ‘purify’ its society. Recently a few videos were out where AI was used to create fake videos — the more prominent ones where a woman’s face was cleverly morphed on a pornstar’s naked body and the video clip looked almost real. Professor Stephen Hawkings, SpaceX Chief Elon Musk, Cleverbot creator Rollo Carpenter, and Bill Gates are some of them who have also warned about AI getting the better side of humanity, fearing that the future could be disastrous and the human race could be at stake of a full artificial intelligence is created. with fake news and information flooding the online channels such as instant mesغير مجاز مي باشدing platforms and social media, it is now up to AI itself to help detect and eradicate the nuisance. CBS News reported in April that a journalist was denied flight because he was on the list of ‘untrustworthy behaviour,’ and that he could not buy property or even send his kids to a private school.Project Maven was used with AI and ML to detect vehicles and various other objects to take the burden off analysts and provide the military with an advanced computer vision. Deepfake: Till date, voice recordings could be doctored and voices could be mimicked by voice artists. Neural processing engines can help AI take the darker side if they are used for all the wrong means. However, with non-ethical hackers gaining funds from the dark web and the underworld, we will see probability of deepfakes only grow larger. It could detect and identify up top 38 categories in the video footage from the drone’s camera. Using this data, algorithms by the artificial intelligence algorithm to decide what to news and information should be shown to public. However, with fake information easily riding on these platforms, it is not easy for AI to detect fake information from the truth. Take for example this video below, which uses AI and related data to create a fake video, but looks almost real.GANs can generate photorealistic faces of any age, gender, or race and graphics processors can easily make these come to life with their immense processing power and based on AI algorithm. However, AI is still at a nascent stage where it fails to understand what is being circulated in videos, text or photos.

The AI that was used in drone operations could detect and identify objects in the footage, known as Project Maven, was questioned about its ethical use of machine learning. Earlier last year, it was reported that China Material Handling Equipment Parts has built a behavioural monitoring system for its citizens that uses AI-based face recognition cameras around the country to look up on the behaviour of its citizens and give them individual scores. We should not be afraid of AI, but humans usually tend to be afraid of something that they cannot understand — and that is pretty much seen in the modern machine — robots. However, with the amount of AI being used for good, the misused AI is what we need to be careful of.And here is another fake video example that features Barack Obama, manipulated to speak something that he did not.Military AI:Google was in the news last year for helping the Pentagon with AI-based drones for military operations. AI is presently being used in almost all online platforms that serve information. While AI can be used for the good, a simple error or manipulation by the AI algorithm can ruin someone’s life. While the project could be seen as a benefit to the military in keeping the country safe, the use of autonomous weapons could also spell disaster if fallen in wrong hands. Using this technique, fake and unrealistic news gets front prominence and can manipulate something as sensitive as the election polls.Photos: Pixabay.AI was used to amplify misinformation and create isolation between citizens with different views from each other. The concern was with the technology that could be used to kill innocent people. If this technology is not made robust enough, we could soon see a dystopian future where privacy and security could be at stake. In another parts of the world, we also see AI so a similar check — for example — credit scores on credit cards, and tax payments, will treat you to your next home or car loan accordingly. All of its 1. "Thousands of AI researchers agree that by removing the risk, attributability, and difficulty of taking human lives, lethal autonomous weapons could become powerful instruments of violence and oppression, especially when linked to surveillance and data systems," claims FutureOfLife in a pledge against the use of AI-based autonomous weapons

Although the EV industry in India is still at a nascent

The second tender of EESL to procure another 10,000 cars, has been put on hold. In the four-wheeler segment, Mahindra, Tata Motors and Suzuki have announced their production plans. The much-anticipated Fame India Scheme II has also been deferred for an indefinite period. EV market also offers innovation opportunity for domestic manufacturers of battery, charging and connectivity technologies. The biggest challenge for mass adoption of EVs isn’t only the upfront غير مجاز مي باشدt as much as the lack of public awareness concerning the importance of shifting to eco-friendly transportation. Over the last two decades, India has managed to develop a competitive advantage in automobile manufacturing. With new players showing interest in setting their foot, the government is coming up with different initiatives to push the demand. The increasing amount of oil import bill and pollution created by the transport sector has forced the country to think and redesign the transportation system.Imminent prospect of job losses is also holding the government from accelerating the push for EVs. The state-run Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) has procured 10,000 electric cars through global tender to replace the fleet of petrol and diesel cars in Central and state government offices. This would also bring much needed relief to consumers and society at large who are struggling with the growing menace of pollution. Certification and eco-labelling will encourage the adoption of sustainable transport services by delivering transparency in the market and help consumers to relate to healthier green options. Countries like Sweden have included passenger and goods transport in its eco-labelling programme and subsequently witnessed a surge in demand for both eco-friendly vehicles and transportation. Coimbatore-based start-up, eMotion Motors, has launched a new electric motorcycle. A hasty policy for the promotion of EVs can lead to job losses and disrupt the national economy.

During the Paris climate summit, India committed to reducing overall carbon footprint by increasing renewable capacity additions and EVs can act as a catalyst. Later, it decided to limit itself with a vision document, instead of a policy. Hope environment minister Dr Harsh Vardhan is listening.Different business models are being explored by these companies. He should know that right incentives and awareness can accelerate the adoption of sustainable transport and conferring some credible eco-labels based on environmental sustainability such as Ecomark can be a game-changer. To encourage more global players, the government is all set to liberalise import norms by removing restrictions on price and engine capacities, as well as the mandatory local testing conditions. Electric vehicles (EVs) seem to be India’s missing piece in the jigsaw puzzle of green mobility. Domestic manufacturing growth may also spur export growth. Goldstone Infra, in collaboration with Chinese major BYD, has launched the first made in India electric bus to be exported to Nepal. Many other start-ups have joined the EV bandwagon. The "Make in India" initiative would attract foreign investment in the country.Further, owing to inadequate charging stations, the deadline to roll out thousands of electric vehicles has also been extended. Similarly, Tata Motors has partnered with Ola, the ride hailing service. To balance its twin goals of boosting economic development and safeguarding environmental sustainability, fostering innovation through enabling policies for sustainable mobility is one way ahead. Tata Motors has also created a new vertical: Electric Mobility Business. This month, Ather Energy has launched India’s first smart electric scooter. It is likely that this regressive step of being content with a vision document was intentional. After the initial excitement of the prospect of turning the country petrol and diesel car free, the government has probably realised that in a sector where technology is still at its nascent stage and fast evolving, it would be unwise to frame a long-term policy.Despite a myriad challenges and obstacles, electric vehicles are steadily gaining traction in India.

Initially, India wanted to take a leap by 100 per cent electrification of public transport and 40 per cent of personal mobility by 2030 and planned to create a national EV policy.Lack of steady policy direction is stunting the much-needed investment. Mahindra has tied caster wheels Manufacturers with Zoomcar to provide them with EVs and eased the funding process. Minister of heavy industries Anant Geete flagged the urgency of the government to push e-mobility and claimed that lithium-ion batteries will soon be manufactured in India, reducing the غير مجاز مي باشدt and import dependency. One can see them around the country as short journey vehicles. Fringe benefits such as green number plate, deduction in toll and parking charges are being explored and expected to be implemented soon. And automakers are more than willing to press the E-button. Currently the government is working on a policy for battery charging to address the requirements of charging stations. As India is embarking on building technology-rich smart cities, the opportunity of greening the transport sector through electric vehicles is manifold. The writers work with CUTS International.Recently the government has slashed the GST charges for electric batteries. Unlike cars, where major players are already present, electrified two-wheeler segment is being led by start-ups at the moment. These technology disruptions can drive newer business models, creating employment opportunities across the value chain. At the time when the government is pushing its "Make in India" agenda, it would not like to lose the debate over jobless growth. Mahindra is also in the process of developing a three-wheel e-rickshaw and compete with several small units already manufacturing them successfully.Although the EV industry in India is still at a nascent stage with only 25,000 units sold in 2016-17, the market is growing.Currently, India imports batteries at a staggering غير مجاز مي باشدt of around 0/kwh

They were not surprised to see a woman

While the new US President and his advisers (several of whom have already been fired) were eager to peer through illuminated globes and partake of traditional sword dances, others in the US are not so dazzled by the regime’s recent doings. The mesغير مجاز مي باشدe from the country’s rulers was clear: with expatriates banished, it is Saudi women, or at least those of them interested in working outside the home, who would be in line to be hired for important positions. If they wanted to drive, they needed to be able to obtain a driving licence. If the Saudis cannot be stopped, they argue, at least arms sales to them must cease. The men did not listen; before long Al Sharif had to leave with them.A victory for Saudi women thus comes at the expense of heightening Saudi nationalism and even xenophobia.Saudi women, which going by the Kingdom’s definition are only those born to a Saudi father, are an integral part of the new Saudi Arabia that seeks to banish all foreigners from its government. If they decided to work, they may also like to drive.

Saudi women could drive cars and drive them without the presence of one of their guardians in the vehicle. By the rights activist’s account, there were very few, only eight or nine of them, in the facility. Sometimes they languish there for months and years before their families even find out where they are. When it comes to the decree of the king of Saudi Arabia, even clerics can be overruled, which it seems is exactly what happened last week. As if to emphasise just this, the day after the driving ban ended, a woman, Eman al-Ghamdi, was appointed assistant mayor of the Al Khobar governorate. So were all the supposedly "Islamic" reasons that the same clerics had proffered as the basis for the restriction on driving. As per the king’s decree, announced live on Saudi television and also via a live media event in Washington DC, this restriction would exist no more. The rest of course were the women who are thrown into Saudi prisons all the time — the Indians, Sri Lankans, Filipinas, all the lesser women who can, often just on the basis of a mere accusation, find themselves in prison for long periods of time. They were, however, shocked to see a Saudi China cast iron wheels Manufacturers woman there. So it is with Saudi women, sisters in struggle all eager to drive, particularly if the non-Saudi maid or nanny or cook follows submissively behind. With the king’s decree, the complaints of conservative clerics, who had even gone so far as to insist that women’s reproductive organs were harmed by driving, were shunted to the side.By arrangement with Dawn. Then there are the prerogatives from within Saudi Arabia. According to this "Saudi first" policy, developed to give the Saudis priority in employment, thousands of these expatriate workers have already left the Kingdom as part of the transition to all-Saudi state employees.

Her brother, who was with her when she took the wheel and who had remained with her, told them that they could not arrest her because it was the middle of the night. Reports of rising Yemeni casualties are routinely reported in major Western publications, and large arms sales consistently meet with the ire of watchdog groups. When Saudi women’s rights activist Manal al-Sharif was taken to a women’s prison in Saudi Arabia, the prisoners inside crowded around her in shock. She would remain in prison for nine days: her crime, driving; her fate somewhat better than the other women she encountered in detention. As analysts have pointed out, the governing Vision 2030 that is marking the Kingdom’s transition requires that foreign workers not be employed in government jobs by 2020. In the copious congratulations that poured in for the Kingdom’s lifting of the ban on driving, hardly any of these analysts considered how the new directive fits into the new Saudi Arabia led by the new king. The Kingdom’s immigration policy has always been a contrast to its rhetoric: Muslims, it seems, are one polity bound in unity and equality until a Saudi official decides to ask for a passport and then uses nationality to determine merit or pay. That, of course, is the story as it appears, the sort of jubilant tale of progress and advance that the Saudis are so eager to sell to the world — at least to a Western world increasingly sceptical of their intentions for the region. It is likely that many more will leave in the days and months to come as the march towards the new Saudi Arabia continues. They were not surprised to see a woman there; after all, the prison was for women. If innocents have to be killed, the Saudis can arrange for munitions from other countries to do so.That was 2011 and Al Sharif, an employee of Aramco, had defied Saudi authorities by driving a car on the streets of the Kingdom.Last Tuesday’s royal decree came in the form of a reprieve to women like Al Sharif and other Saudi women activists who have been trying to wrangle the freedom to drive from the Kingdom since they held the first driving protest in 1990. In the middle of the night that followed, a horde of annoyed Saudi secret police showed up at her doorstep at the apartment she inhabited inside the Aramco compound. This second internal reality, the fact that Saudi Arabia has identified the elimination of expatriate workers from its state-employed workforce, is not well known among Western analysts

Growth and development have been consigned to the ash

Both may fall short of the big number of 272, the BJP marginally and the Congress hugely. These results will add to the confusion. Singh proposed the name of Devi Lal as Prime Minister, in spite of the fact that he himself had been clearly projected by the anti-Congress forces as the "clean" alternative to Rajiv and their PM candidate. This scenario has many game-changers, first and foremost remains PM Modi’s unparalleled popularity and skill as a demagogue, he will obviously be the campaigner in chief and complementing him will be Amit Shah’s fabled booth management techniques using tireless karyakartas as the vanguard. In a dramatic meeting in the Central Hall of Parliament on December 1, V.P. It may well be that the BJP falls short and as a political pariah like Rajiv Gandhi in 1989 becomes the single largest party, but cannot form the government, and the federal front, bickering over who will head the government (because the Congress will want to foist its man), actually ends up in power with the Congress supporting it from the outside. Now 27 years later, as you go into the final bend of the grand hustings of 2019 (perhaps even earlier in November 2018 itself), the faux construct of another alliance is in place with the same contradictions and hunger for the top job.In 2014, the BJP got 73 seats along with Apna nylon rollers Manufacturers Dal in UP, 22 in Bihar out of 40, 23 in Maharashtra, 10 in Chhattisgarh, 12 in Jharkhand, 17 in Karnataka, 26 in Gujarat, 27 in MP, 25 in Rajasthan, seven out of seven in Delhi and five out of five in Uttarakhand. It is the regional satraps who will dominate — Mamata Banerjee in West Bengal (42 seats), Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati (80 seats) in UP, the RJD along with the Congress in Bihar (40 seats).

Shiv Sena and NCP in Maharashtra (48 seats), Tamil Nadu (39 seats), which may well see a quadrangular contest (DMK vs AIADMK vs Rajinikanth vs Kamal Haasan), Andhra Pradesh (25) where N. This stunned Chandra Shekhar, the former head of the erstwhile Janata Party, and V. Equally, the BJP will polarise voters and do well in the Hindi Hindu heartland of UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, parts of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Himachal, Chhattisgarh and Karnataka. PM Modi and Rahul Gandhi may well have to recalibrate their battle plans, for the India of 2018-19 is different from that of April-May 2014. Singh, along with Lalu Prasad Yadav in Bihar, had L. The experiment in Gorakhpur and Phulpur, more recently in Karnataka and now in Kairana (UP) and Bhandara-Gondiya (Maharashtra), has shown that when the Opposition presents a united face, then the BJP struggles..The Congress should do well in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, perhaps New Delhi, where there may be a triangular contest with the AAP and BJP for seven seats. A collective federal front, say under the leadership of a Yashwant Sinha and a few more rebels from the BJP, may do a lot better if they get their calculus right. Singh government, which lost a parliamentary vote of confidence on November 7, 1990. His government fell after V.P. Chandra Shekhar, who had clearly expected that an agreement had been forged with Devi Lal as consensus candidate, stormed out of the meeting and refused to serve in the Cabinet. It began on the wrong foot. Along came Chandra Shekhar, who broke away from the Janata Dal with 64 MPs, and formed the Samajwadi Janata Party in 1990.

Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP is dominant, Telangana (17 seats), where K. The fissures and knives were out soon. Growth and development have been consigned to the ashes of history; Hindu majoritarianism, anti-minorityism and hope and fear, dominate the political narrative. The BJP is thinking that it is fighting the Congress in 2019 and vice versa.P.P. Imagine the Indian Right and Left supporting the centrist forces, the dichotomy burst out in the open. He finally resigned on March 6, 1991, after the Congress alleged that the government was spying on Rajiv Gandhi. Chandrasekhar Rao calls the shots and Odisha (21 seats), where Naveen Patnaik still rules. As Mark Zuckerberg says, strategy is about making choices; trade offs, it is deliberately choosing to be different. The wheel had come full circle, another perilous experiment with coalition truth had been exposed. Singh should be PM.P. Despite ruling in 20 states, the BJP has no presence in large swathes of India — two MPs in Andhra, one in Telangana, one in Odisha, one in Tamil Nadu, three in West Bengal, none in Kerala. Singh’s bete noire within the Janata Dal. Devi Lal, a Jat leader from Haryana, stood up and refused the nomination, and said that he would prefer to be an "elder uncle" to the government, and that V. He got outside support from the Congress and became the 11th Prime Minister of India.K. Advani arrested in Samastipur (Bihar) and stopped his rathyatra, which was going to the Babri Masjid site in Ayodhya on October 23, 1990, and the BJP withdrew support to the V. Obviously the pulls and pressures on this type of government will be immense, the internecine sniping in the Republic of Kichdi a given with the ability to combust at any point in time weighed as it will be under congenital contradictions, almost paradoxical

The experienced Tiwary was a vital cog in the whee

Shardul Thakur shone in the end China caster wheels overs, choking the Mumbai chase with well-directed bowling. If a partnership was built early, I had to go down the order, because Ben Stokes, Dhoni bhai were there. "My role was if a couple of wickets fell in powerplay, then I have to go in.Sundar had to fill in the big shoes of Ashwin, but he didn’t succumb to the pressure. "It was a good opportunity for me. Before the IPL I had a good run in Vijay Hazare and Deodhar Trophy and was high on confidence," Sundar said. The contributions from the fringe Indian players, besides match winning performances from experienced internationals like Ben Stokes, Smith and Dhoni enabled Pune to rise. So, mentally I was prepared. Another great strategic shift came at that point. The win was Pune’s third over feared Mumbai, a fantastic record for a new team in the league. Pune changed the wheels of their bowling line-up, backing their young Indian brigade.Having made it to the last four with a big win in its last league game, the team had a shaky start against the fancied Mumbai Indians in the qualifier. He took eight wickets in 10 games including 3/16 in qualifier 1. Thakur and Unadkat had never got such a long run in single season, Sundar and Tripathi were new to IPL while Tiwary missed last season due to injury.

It was in the defence of the total that Smith, ringing in the most inspired bowling changes and trusting his rookie spinner Washington Sundar to deliver in the Powerplay overs, shone the most. The team’s batsmen, Ajinkya Rahane and Manoj Tiwary, chipped away after Smith had holed out, rebuilding the challenge and setting it up for the famous Dhoni finishing power. Smith provided the initial firepower, steering his side to victory over Mumbai Indians in the first game, but then the team lost three consecutive games after that. Luckily everything came off.Rahul Tripathi has had a dream IPL, scoring 388 runs in 13 games at an average of 29.All had a point to prove and they did it in style keeping the mind clear and not succumbing to pressure situations. It has been a fairytale run for the Rising Pune Supergiant team. I had a belief and wanted to express myself. Despite Dhoni’s blazing brilliance in the end overs, the Puneiites had only a fighting total to defend. He gave the Pune attack teeth even as South African leggie Imran Tahir was held back for later overs to give the attack greater balance. After an ordinary start, Thakur also picked up in confidence and was lethal in the crucial games.22 said after the last game against Mumbai Indians. Both the stars, however, combined as an ideal leadership team splendidly to drive the team into the final. I am happy we are in the final and I have contributed in it," he said. Left arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat was picked from the fifth game and Pune’s purple patch started."I just wanted to do what I am capable of. I knew what my strengths are and was clear in my mind what I have to do and how to execute plans.

The experienced Tiwary was a vital cog in the wheel too. But (I am) pretty happy with the way I have contributed and just want to continue doing that in the final as well," said Tiwary who made 317 in 14 games at an average of 35.Every team member stepped up when required to make it an all-round team and they didn’t miss their top wicket-taker Tahir after he returned to South Africa for national duty and even didn’t miss star all-rounder Stokes who wasn’t available for the playoffs. While Smith concentrated on shuffling the bowling attack, Dhoni chipped in by taking over the field placements, stationing the men in the deep with precision even as Smith proved predatory in the circles, clinging to stiff catches, as the batsmen, including the feared Kieron Pollard, flicked Sundar with the turn to the onside. Youngster Sundar did the star turn against Mumbai Indians in the key qualifier. Seen as the poor cousin among the giants of the IPL, the newcomer finished just one off the bottom in its first season in IPL 9.His good rapport with Dhoni helped here. There was dramatic churning in the team with the owner stepping in and taking the bold call to displace Mahendra Singh Dhoni as captain and pick Steve Smith in his place..Unadkat is currently the second highest wicket taker with 22 scalps in 11 games with a five-wicket haul including a hat-trick to his name

They are the three crosses of St Andrews

I managed to quickly zip onto one with a few seconds left on the countdown displayed on the platform. However, there was so much more to do in this location than what I had initially anticipated. I found cycling next to the canals at a leisurely pace to be very soothing and relaxing. Perhaps the name ‘5G Katapult’ should have given it away but I Material Handling Equipment Parts Factory conveniently shift the blame onto those droves of people inhaling and spreading those dubious pungent clouds of smoke that Amsterdam is also renowned for. With no specific agenda, I decided to experience the city as a flâneur and see what adventures await. But wait! The sun is still up? Experiencing this for the first time, I calmly said to myself that this was a sign from the heavens that my adventure simply must continue! I decided to rent a bike and just cycle around town. Pranay Singh Pathania is passionate about exploring the world and writing about his travel adventures. No plans or agenda and see where it takes me.

But I had a day to kill before I officially renounced my existence to the Tiëstos tunes and Armin van Buurens beats for the night. To my surprise, there was a mini amusement park replete with food stalls, a Ferris wheel, thrill rides, ring toss et al.The offerings were an absolute delight. After a while, I found myself close to Amsterdam Central Station and the several ferries operating close by caught my eye. The inner child in me was ready to wreak havoc and do some damage. After a thrilling ride on Europe’s highest swing, I noticed it was getting dark and thought this was an opportune moment for a beer and sample some bitterballen that I had heard so much about, before calling it a day. From Nutella waffles to the more local Oliebollen and Stroopwaffel, I was well on my way to recovering all the energy I had expended earlier. Remembering all those YouTube videos I had seen in preparation for my trip, I made sure to secure my bike properly and marked the location on my phone lest I forget. However, I was experiencing something different. The first stop was the iconic Dam Square. Even while cycling I would regularly see groups of people who had members dressed almost entirely in orange riding their boats through the canals waving and raising their beers to onlookers.

A road in the middle of trees is perfect for an unforgettable bike ride. Having lost complete track of time, I thought I would start making my way to my hotel and end my exploration since it was past 9 pm. As soon as we docked onto the other side I made my way to the iconic Adam Tower. One of the first misconceptions that I would like to have cleared up regarding Amsterdam, after being duly enlightened myself, is that the three X’s on the Amsterdam flag have no correlation with a similar rating scale used in the adult entertainment business. I still fondly recall the ecstatic moment when I was on a swing as high as some of tallest buildings in one of the most popular destinations in the world. I imagine that I was probably the only tourist on this boat as I was rushing to all sides of the boat to appreciate the views in awe much to the annoyance of bystanders buried in their smartphones. They are the three crosses of St Andrews. With my energy levels plummeting from all that excitement, it was time to hit the food stalls with a vengeance. With that out of the way, let’s dive into all things orange! Although famed for its *** and drugs image, the Amsterdam Music Festival, one of the largest indoor music festivals, was the item I knew I would be ticking off my bucket list shortly. I’m not sure what I was thinking when I tried, for the first and last time, a ride that flings you high in the air repeatedly while strapped inside a metal cage of sorts, at astonishing speed. I had been warned by a friend prior to touching down in the country that the Dutch are very direct and that can sometimes be perceived as rude

If the first two wickets had fallen at 45, the next three would go down in the nylon rollers space of just 10 runs as none of the batsmen other than Dilshan looked even remotely interested in an extended stay at the crease.3-0-14-2 (1nb, 1w), Phangiso 4-0-26-2, Imran Tahir 4-0-18-1 (1nb), Wiese 1-0-8-0, Behardien 3-0-15-2South Africa: H.Having realised that spin was the way to go, du Plessis pressed the rest of his armoury into action, and kept reaping the reward.
